I am delighted you’ve chosen to visit my site, whilst you are here please allow me to tell you a little about myself.
My name is Lilly and I started the blog a few years ago as a way of storing all my book reviews and in the hope that my thoughts on what I’d read could be useful to those seeking their next book or even for people to reflect upon books they had already read and to ask themselves “Was it just me that thought….?”
I am a nearly 40 mum of four children, two boys and two girls aged between 11 and 4 and I literally use reading as an escape, a way to chill out at the end of the day or to pass time in the car whilst I wait for them at school or various after school activities. I have a huge appetite for books and whilst I’m not a great lover of the horror genre (best being honest) I have read books from Young Adult, Historical, Mystery, Romance, Young Adult and even children’s genres.
My happy place in a bookshop, I hate shopping in general but show me a book shop and I’ll happily lose myself for a few hours just browsing along the shelves, photographing covers of books I’d like to buy or that interest me and I’d like to research more about. There’s nothing more exciting than finding a book you didn’t know had been released by a favourite author or finding a book you know you’d just love and whose dust jacket art and descriptions just pulls you in.
My greatest wish for my children would be that they learn the joy of reading, and the joy of their imaginations and where this can take them. Too often we forget to encourage them to express their ideas openly and we focus on the spelling, the grammar and the punctuation of what they write. Whilst I am terrible, and online affectionately fall into the spelling police, I try very hard with my children to not seek perfection but to seek their joy in creating an idea.
I’m so glad you’ve taken time to read more about me and my blog, please feel free to read as much or little as you choose and I would love to hear your comments, feedback, OMG I felt that way about that book too revelations or even just say hi.
