I watched this film on Sky Movies a while ago and immediately raced out to buy it! The story of a young doctor (Sandra Bullock) who moves out of a lake side house leaving behind a note for the new owner apologising for the dog prints on the boardwalk and the box of letters in the attic only to find that her letter is found by the previous owner (Keanu Reeves) is a great story.
They begin communicating – originally confused why they seem to be at odds with each other – then they find that he is based 2 years before her. Slowly they begin to fall in love and the scene where they decide to go for a walk around the city together – but apart – is a truly wonderful scene.
With a wonderful storyline that can be a little confusing if you don’t keep your wits about you this is one of my very favourite films of all time. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock made a great pairing in Speed – this time we find them in a gentler more emotional partnership and it works equally as well. Bullock has the right sense of vulnerability and Reeves is a wonderfully strong male lead.
I would recommend this film to those who enjoyed films like The Notebook, Titanic and Hope Floats.
